PSS salary sacrifice calculator

Did you know you can salary sacrifice the contributions you make to PSS? Salary sacrifice contributions are taken from your before-tax salary, are treated as an employer contribution, and attract the Commonwealth Government's 15% contributions tax instead of your marginal income tax rate. Find out more about salary sacrificing.

The calculator assumes you have provided State Super with your Tax File Number, that you are eligible to make salary sacrifice contributions and that you have not made contributions to other super funds during the 2023-24 financial year. Before drawing any conclusions from the calculations, it is important that you review the notes and assumptions and terms and conditions, which you can access from the navigation menu at the top of the screen.

The PSS salary sacrifice calculator illustrates (for the 2023-24 financial year) the impact salary sacrificing could have on your:

  • take home pay (after-tax income)
  • income tax payable
  • PSS personal compulsory contributions over a financial year
  • entitlement to Commonwealth Government co-contributions if making after-tax contributions to PSS.

There are other factors that may impact the above items which are not taken into account in the calculator.
